The Framework for Ethical Practice

The Framework for Ethical Practice model illustrates how context and structural conditions influence the ethical challenges encountered in career guidance.

The Framework for Ethical Practice model has four parts:

Organisation and Form

Defines the structures, roles, and resources that shape how guidance is organised and delivered.
Influences priorities, scope, and conditions for practice.

Acts and Procedures

Refers to laws, regulations, and professional guidelines that set standards for ethical and responsible practice.
Provides direction and boundaries for decision-making.

Society and Environment

Reflects the broader social, cultural, and labour market context in which guidance takes place.
Shapes expectations, opportunities, and constraints for both individuals and services.

Target Group

Represents the individuals or groups receiving guidance, with their needs, backgrounds, and situations.
Requires adaptation of practice to ensure relevance, inclusion, and respect.
